valentine's day

On Valentine's Day morning, Gee Gee left Tim a Valentine's gift on the stairs. The stairs are behind a security gate, so he didn't discover them right away, but when he did see them, he pointed and made noises until we let him through the gate.

television

Before Timothy was born, Paul and I agreed that he wouldn't watch TV until after he could read and did read as a personal choice of entertainment. I think we knew that was ridiculous as our flat was so small that Timothy could hear if not see the TV whenever we had it on. Tim became fascinated with the TV when he was about three months old. It must have been the colors and movement that he liked. Now he has a much more sophisticated appreciation of the boob tube. He loves to watch The Lion King, especially the first 15 minutes when all the different animals make an appearance. He came to know many of them from Paul's screen saver on our computer. He also likes the rain, lightening, and waterfalls. Paul and I enjoy watching him get excited about what he sees. He points when he recognizes something like hippo, giraffe, elephant, bok, and more.

the sofa

Tim has discovered the fun of climbing on the furniture, namely the couch. If we take a cushion off, he can get on and off of it by himself. He now requests the removal of said cushion whenever he wants a little couch time. Along with climbing around, he often sits on the couch in a very grown up position. We'll try to get a photo of that.

Here he seems to be working on his dance moves. Move over Michael Jackson.

dad's shoes

Tim has discovered not only his own shoes, which he will retrieve upon request (sometimes), but also our shoes. He seems to prefer to wear Paul's and chew on mine.
