paparazzi

Our video camera and Paul's small digital camera both take quality photos, but they can't compete with his SLR digital camera. When Paul gets that out, the shutter runs with machine-gun fire rapidity and Paul tells Tim that it's the paparazzi. Here are three from the latest photo shoot.

rattle/bug feet

Tim discovered his feet when my parents were here and finds them amusing every day. In a recent email, my mom suggested that I tie a rattle to Tim's foot for hours more of entertainment. We don't have a rattle, so I did some shopping at amazon and found these great bug rattle socks. There are matching bug rattle wrist bands as well. They arrived this morning. He didn't have any interest in any of it this morning, but after his last nap, he took to the socks and has been playing with them for about 30 minutes. As I write this now, he's played himself into another nap.

Tim has been smiling since my parents’ visit. I took this video just after they left and thought I would edit the end off so that it’s all just of him smiling. However, it’s going to take me some time to install and figure out how to use our editing program, so I’m posting this now.

talking

Tim has become very vocal in the last week. He talks to himself, the walls, us, and his feet. We often have profound conversations that leave me eager for more.

My parents were just here for a five day visit, and Timothy put on a major milestone show for them. He can now hold his head up for extended periods, focus and follow people as they walk around the room, stay awake longer and play in a very basic hand-and-foot-waving manner, and he SMILES real smiles. Mom and Dad’s attention surely brought it on, and I look forward to his progress under Jenny and Neville’s loving care. It was wonderful to watch Mom and Dad with him. I changed very few diapers during their visit, and only held him when he needed to be fed. They even did some baby sitting and let us go to a movie one evening and dinner another.
