We signed Timothy up for swimming lessons last month. He went twice a week for three weeks.
The first lesson was a stunning failure. We got there just as the class started, so Paul and Timothy got straight into the pool without any time for Tim to get used to his surroundings. It's a huge indoor facility with lots of noise and action. I didn't get in this but sat on the side to take pictures. Tim spotted me almost immediately and spent the entire thirty minute lesson either crying and clinging to Paul or crying and reaching for me. The following lessons were all successes. We both got in the water with him and got there early enough to give him time to take in the whole facility and slowly get into the water. By the second week, he was putting his face in the water on his own and by the last week, we could lift him off the side in a simulated jump and put him completely under the water. He doesn't like to get water in his eyes, but he never swallowed water or even sputtered.
you can hear timothy crying above the other noises
